Under 500Wh — the go-bag class
Phones, router, fan and a CPAP for one night. Will not start a full-size refrigerator — the compressor surge exceeds these units' output. Typical fridge runtime does not apply; think communications and comfort.
1kWh class — the Florida sweet spot
Runs a refrigerator roughly 14–20 hours, or a CPAP for two to three dry nights. Paired with a 200W panel (700–900Wh per clear day), this class covers most Florida outages indefinitely. The best value per watt-hour of any class here.
